Well, its a new year, have been writing a lot of material in preparation to do a little playing, but the last little bit of time has been dry.  Have had a bad cold, been feeling listless, just haven't wanted to sing.  But its a new day dawning!  I can feel the spring surge!

Took the kids to see "Wizard of Oz" yesterday, at the Lafayette Theatre.   Its an old grand theatre complete with organist that has been renovated and shows old films on Saturday morning.

Its the end of the summer, and I still dread it like when I was 12!  Anyway, did summer stuff, and started a band finally.  

I am and will detail it all on a blog that I have started.  I figured that with all of the material you create in a band, and all of the stupid stories, might as well have a place where you can post it all, so those interested few can listen in on all of that band stuff, every practice and demo documented! (almost)

I have played with my new toy and I am making a much nicer video now that I have learned more about it.  I got a few videos from an old SNL last night of Lucinda Williams, and one of Peachwave from the PBS 25 channel, "New York Noise".  I have 3 new ones here or go to  Composition, Media, and select the Video link.

Got a new pinnacle video capture card.  I can now capture the musical performances that my tivo records and post them here.  I have 6 new ones here or go to  Composition, Media, and select the Video link, and watch Living Things, The Metrics, The Magic Numbers, Brian Setzers Orchestra doing a Christmas medley, a Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris duo number.  

I will post more in the next few days, I have scads of stuff that I had been saving in anticipation of the new card, some Rilo Kiley live, and a lot of Strokes!

Slow summer, but thats a good thing!  Put a kiddie pool in for the girls this summer, yesterday they put on a show in the pool.  I captured it with my cell phone video cam, added a tune.  Get it here  or go to Videos in Composition, Video

Our town has a series of music and art events in the summer, all set outdoors.  Last night was Eileen Ivers and her band who played celtic music with a r&b edge, tonights was Cyro Baptista's band, Beat the Donkey.  Brazilian percussion madness, combined with swordplay, tap dancing, megaphones, mardi gras stilts, led zepplin encores and much much more!
