The Wine
By: John Turner

Your stubborn child has stopped to pray...
I'm tired of doing things my own way.
On bended knee I now confess,
My life, alas, became a mess.
What was I thinking O-Mighty-Righteous one?
I could endure, without your precious Son?
Wash me, Purge me, Set me free-
My broken life I pledge to thee!
-And Now-
Spirit blessed, Atoned and Guided, All my sins in Him Confided,
Onward Soldier- Heavenly bound- Precious joy and peace was found.
"In Jesus Name Amen"

Confessions
By: John Turner

Spirit drawn waters from poisoned stank wells and broken levees on dams that are long swollen with their secret, self contained sufferings.

A freefall that the faithful pray into a safety net of love that never fails.

The crossroads where the edges of freedom & bondage meet.

Made with our mouths- we launch the burden of guilt from the shores of nevermore.

When we clean from our attics the heavy chest of painful memories, no longer a hoard of anguish to our souls.

Our sudden desperate flares-sent out along with our prayers, in hopes of rescue, in our blackest darkest nights.

An excavation of sorrows too long entombed in our heavy hearts.

Missed Blessing
By: John Turner

I met a man with big green teeth-

I never saw what was beneath

The words - "poor soul", formed on my lips

as we passed each other like wooden ships

That man I judged - lesser than I

never revealed the tears he’d cry.

On bended knee - for fools like me

Whose shallow vision couldn’t see...

That sometimes we utter, (too quickly), goodbyes

Dismissing Gods angels in lowly disguise.
