WWJD--Why Waste Jesus' Death?

WWJD--"What Would Jesus Do?"

I often wonder if the millions wearing those happy little bracelets have really thought things through.

Would Jesus be pleased with the image wearing these trinkets presents to the world?

Not the Jesus of the Manger--helplessly mewling with every hunger pain,

But the Jesus of the Temple--Eyes blazing, whip cracking, purging God's House,

Screaming out against the Perditious Pharisaical Peddlers of Religion.

What would Jesus do with Televangelists pick-pocketing the feeble in the name of God?

Did His brutal sacrifice on an executioner's stake mean so little,

Reduced to a marketing strategy to sell books, baubles and even little bracelets?

Love's greatest gift diminished to avarice, selfish ambition and greed,

What would Jesus do, indeed!

Better to ask, "What did Jesus do?"

Is Christianity's modern expression truly worth the Death He died?

To become a laughingstock and cliche--Is this why He was crucified?
